Lyle Langlois, Langlois Brown Wealth Management, IA Private Wealth, Gearing Up for a Summer of Charitable Giving
Langlois Brown Wealth Management, a Vancouver family office led by Senior Investment Advisor Lyle Langlois, has for many years been a model of charitable giving amongst wealth management firms in Canada – whether it’s through matching client donations to local charities or sponsoring fundraising events such as golf tournaments and classic car shows.
One of the most prominent of these is the annual Ryan & Lucas Johansen Charity Golf Classic – Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation (erhf.ca), which benefits the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation. This year’s tournament will take place at the Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club on July 10th. Last year’s event featured an amazing 160 golfers, along with dozens more concert attendees for the special event, “A Night in Nashville,” featuring country artists Eric Van Houten and Heath Warren.
Port Moody, B.C.’s Ryan Johansen, who last year played for the NHL’s Predators in Nashville, Tennessee, helped to organize the country music concert. Johansen was traded to the Colorado Avalanche and then to the Philadelphia Flyers organization but is currently sidelined due to lower body injuries.
Lucas Johansen has made several appearances for the Washington Capitals this season, and he continues to suit up nightly for the club’s AHL affiliate Hershey Bears in Pennsylvania.
“It’s wonderful to have local guys from the NHL to sponsor this tournament,” says Lyle Langlois. “They can add a few other attractions to the regularly scheduled golf tournament, and the star power can ramp up the participation. And the benefit goes directly to Eagle Ridge Hospital.”
Last year, the tournament raised over $264,000 for the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation.
Langlois Brown will also once again sponsor the Rivershore Amateur Golf Tournament RIV AM ‘ 24 (golfgenius.com) in Kamloops, B.C, running over the weekend of August 3- 5. The 43rd annual event on the Robert Trent Jones-designed course will include
around 150 golfers and feature over $10,000 in prizes, including a Sunday night banquet.
In addition to the golf events, Langlois Brown has been instrumental in organizing the Classic and Contemporary Car Show, benefiting Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
Since its inception, the event has raised over $2.6 million for Canuck Place. The fourth annual event will take place Saturday, June 15, 2024.
In addition to directly sponsoring events, Langlois Brown Wealth Management remains committed to client-matching campaigns through Charitable Impact, with local family charities selected as the recipients. Through this initiative, the firm has made significant contributions to Harvest Project, Backpack Buddies, and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
By remaining committed to giving back, Langlois Brown helps to encourage a culture of charitable giving within the business and broader community. The Team is dedicated to leveraging its network and resources to make a significant impact on local charities and the broader community.
