Scientists have created nanorobots that would be able to shrink cancerous tumors by cutting off their blood supply without harming healthy cells. By cutting off their blood supply, the nanorobots are starving them out.

In a recent study published by in Nature Biotechnology, scientists were able to cut-off the blood supply to breast cancer, ovarian, lung cancer tumors in mice. Two weeks after receiving the treatment, the tumor tissue was already shrinking. Many obstacles still need to be crossed to be able to use this kind of technology on humans, but the field of nanomedicine is growing, and the results could be promising.
