S’cool bus, New Cool and Ecological Transport

School transportation affects almost all children. Whether they come by car or by school bus, every morning and evening, children ride our roads and thus contribute to pollution. The ideal is to go on foot or by bike, however, it is not possible for all children because of the distance between home and school. The school bus is still more environmentally friendly than the car. However, there is a non-polluting school bus: the bike-bus.

Inspired by rosalies, small velocipede land vehicles that can accommodate several passengers, the bike-bus was established in France in 2017 by two Rouen boys. It was after a trip to the Netherlands, where many people travel in rosalies, that they had the idea to use the system in France for the school bus. The bike-bus driven by a trained driver contains 8 child-sized seats equipped with a safety net. This school bus allows you to pick up all the children of the Seine-Eure conurbation and to bring them to the school via bike paths or roads limited to 30 km / h and whatever the temperature because it has a removable roof. Victim of its success, it is also used for adults who wish to make tours or walks.

In addition to its zero carbon emission, the bicycle-bus amuses children who can pedal at their own pace while learning the Highway Code and practicing a physical activity essential for their health.
