German Compagny Lilium is $90 Million closer to creating an all-electric flying taxi.
Last September 5th, a German flying car company Lilium announced that they received a round of founding of Tencent, LGT (the international private banking and asset management group), Atomico and Obvious Ventures, amounting to $90 million to further develop its Lilium jet.
This new five-seat, all-electric flying taxi prototype, that recently completed its first test flight, will have its first manned flight in two years.
Currently, over $100 million has been invested in this project and the next stage will be, according to Lilium CEO and co-founder Daniel Wieggand, a commercially successful aircraft that will ‘’revolutionise the way we travel in and around the world’s cities’’. They would provide a similar service, with this project, as Lyft or Uber. The finalized Lilium jet will be able to travel 300 km/hour (186 miles/hour) on one charge.
This prototype will also be an emission-free, a way of reducing traffic and a cutting down travel time.
